The Client
REP Fitness is a leading US-based fitness equipment company with a strong global presence. As part of their international growth, the company launched REP Fitness EU — an e-commerce platform built on Shopify, serving customers across 21 European countries. The European branch provides faster delivery, localized service, and a region-tailored buying experience for athletes, home gym owners, and fitness professionals across the continent.
Functionality
One of the most advanced features of the platform is its interactive 3D product builder, now powered by Three.js. This tool allows users to visually assemble customizable products — such as power racks — by selecting components like uprights, safeties, pull-up bars, and various attachments. As the user configures the product, the 3D model updates in real time, making it easy to understand how each choice affects the final build. This immersive experience helps customers visualize their setup and make more confident purchasing decisions.
The builder was initially implemented using ThreeKit, but due to limitations in performance and customization, the technology was recently migrated to a more flexible and performant solution using Three.js. This transition allowed for better control over visuals, faster loading times, and deeper customization options. We continue to iterate and enhance the builder based on both customer feedback and new product releases.
In addition, the platform is integrated with NetSuite, enabling seamless synchronization of product data, inventory levels, and order flow between the ERP system and the Shopify storefront. This integration ensures that available configurations reflect true stock levels in real time, helping avoid overselling and enabling accurate fulfillment. It also allows the REP team to efficiently manage complex product variations and streamline logistics across warehouses.
Ongoing support
Our team provides ongoing support and continuous development for REP Fitness EU. This includes maintaining and improving core functionality, implementing performance and UX enhancements, and introducing new product features. A significant part of our current focus is expanding the localization of the storefront, ensuring that customers in each country can shop in their native language and currency.
